Is it hard to find a cleaner? No, during our CleanStartâ"˘ Management Academy, you learn how to evaluate the quality of cleaning. You and your Business Development Director meet with a number of local cleaners and select the best one to service your business.
Do I have to tag clothes? No, all sorting, spotting, and tagging is done at the plant by the dry cleaner. This saves you time, money and the responsibility for costly errors.
Do I need an office or storefront? No, a spare bedroom or den is all the space you need with a simple home office set-up. Remember, there is no inventory, supplies, or equipment necessary.
Can I do this part-time? Because of the high earning potential and rapid customer growth, a full-time commitment is necessary.
I've heard advertising is the largest expense any business incurs. What will I spend on advertising? You pay 1% of your gross revenue or a minimum of $60 per month into DCTYD Advertising Fund. This money is used to develop marketing materials, customer newsletters, etc. In addition, a portion is rebated to franchise owners through our Ad Fund Partnership.
What if a customer's clothes are damaged? Am I responsible? No, DCTYD is the largest member of DLI (Drycleaning & Laundry Institute). DLI offers a garment analysis lab to determine the cause of clothing damages. We also participate in DLI education programs and hold our Convention in conjunction with theirs. Each DCTYD franchise owner is an individual member of DLI.
